Ben Meiselas is an American civil rights attorney, political commentator, and media entrepreneur best known as a co-founder of MeidasTouch, a popular progressive media network. He has gained recognition for his legal work, political analysis, and efforts to bring important public issues to a wider audience. Through his work as a lawyer and media personality, Ben has established a strong presence in both the legal and political fields.
Ben Meiselas was born on May 19, 1985, making him 41 years old in 2026, according to publicly available biographical sources. He is married to Xochitl Marin, and they have a daughter named Ximena. His two brothers, Brett and Jordy Meiselas, are also his business partners in MeidasTouch. This article covers Ben Meiselas’s age, birthday, wife, family background, and professional journey.
Ben Meiselas Age & Personal Information
Ben Meiselas turned 41 on May 19, 2026, and turns 42 on May 19, 2027. Wikipedia lists the 1985 birth date. NPR’s August 2025 profile called him 40 and the eldest of the brothers, which matches.
A note on identity: Susan Meiselas is a well-known documentary photographer with the same surname. She is a different person. Pages calling Ben a “renowned photographer” are wrong.
Ben Meiselas Net Worth Overview
No verified public record states his net worth. Online estimates usually land between $5 million and $10 million, but those numbers come from calculator-style sites that rarely show their math.
Here is what is documented. NPR reported that MeidasTouch earns millions of dollars a year in advertising revenue, though Meiselas declined to give an exact figure. That revenue is shared across a company with three founders and many contributors. Treat any single net worth number as a rough guess, not a fact.

Career Journey of Ben Meiselas
His career has two phases: law first, then media.
Legal career:
- He worked as a litigator, including at Geragos & Geragos in Los Angeles.
- He represented former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
- He filed a class-action lawsuit for attendees of the Fyre Festival.
Media career:
- In March 2020, during the pandemic, he and his brothers started MeidasTouch from quarantine.
- Their satirical anti-Trump ads went viral online.
- The operation grew into a rapid-response news network and one of YouTube’s top political podcasts.
Forbes described the approach in March 2026 as a “trial lawyer approach” that mixes legal analysis, commentary and brotherly banter. That fits his own explanation: he says his unscripted style comes from years of speaking in court.
Education is a point of confusion. Wikipedia’s current entry says he studied law at Georgetown. Other sites list Berkeley, Harvard, USC or UCLA with no sources. If this matters for your use, check a primary source such as a bar association profile.
Ben Meiselas Income Sources & Businesses
His income likely comes from several streams:
- MeidasTouch advertising: YouTube and podcast ad revenue is the largest known source.
- Subscriptions: Paid memberships through the MeidasTouch Substack and the MeidasPlus site.
- Publishing: Hachette Book Group lists him as a contributor alongside his brothers.
- Magazine ownership: Los Angeles Magazine described him as a co-owner in 2024, and fan profiles say he co-owns Pasadena Magazine too.
- Teaching: He has been listed as a sports law lecturer at USC.
- Legal fees: Income from earlier law practice, though he is now described as a former attorney.
Treat the exact split as unknown. Only the advertising point has direct reporting behind it.
Ben Meiselas Brothers
He has two younger brothers, and both work with him:
- Brett Meiselas: An Emmy-winning video editor who oversees creative direction. NPR notes he previously edited for The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
- Jordan “Jordy” Meiselas: A marketing and brand strategist who shaped the business model and audience growth.
Some profile sites claim more siblings, but I found no reliable source for that. The three brothers appeared together at the 29th Annual Webby Awards on May 12, 2025. The company name blends the family surname with their mother’s maiden name, Golden, a nod to the Midas myth.
Their father, Kenny Meiselas, is reportedly a music-industry lawyer.
Ben Meiselas Age Wikipedia
People often search “Ben Meiselas age Wikipedia” hoping for one clean answer. Wikipedia’s MeidasTouch page lists him as born May 19, 1985, and describes him as a former attorney. It also notes his marriage to Xochitl Marin in May 2024 and that they have a daughter.
Wikipedia can change at any time, so cross-check it with news outlets. The 1985 date matches NPR’s reported age, which is why this article uses it.
Ben Meiselas Lifestyle & Assets
His lifestyle details are mostly modest and well documented in one place: NPR’s home visit. He works from a home studio in the foothills of the Verdugo Mountains in Los Angeles. He keeps a tripod, bright lights and a laptop in a glass-doored office, and three Maltese terriers live in the house.
He posts videos from about 4 a.m. onward on busy days. No reliable source lists cars, property values or investments, so ignore sites that claim to know them.
Family, Relationships & Personal Life
Wife
He married Xochitl Marin on May 18, 2024, at Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Simi Valley, California. Los Angeles Magazine reported that Colin Kaepernick, Don Lemon and Mark Geragos attended.
Ben has written that his wife is a first-generation American whose family comes from Guadalajara, Mexico. He credits her with supporting his risky career change.
Daughter
Their daughter, Ximena, was born in late September 2024. Ben introduced her to readers on Thanksgiving 2024 and said the name honors his wife’s heritage. She would now be about two years old.

Parents
Kenny Meiselas is reported as a music lawyer. The family has Long Island roots.
His wife stays out of the spotlight, so details about her career are not public. Respect that when sharing information.
Ben Meiselas Height
Ben Meiselas’s height is not officially confirmed. One celebrity profile site lists about 5 feet 9 inches (175 cm) and 70 kg, but it gives no source. Use it as an estimate only.
Social Media Presence & Public Influence
His influence is mostly through video and podcasts:
- YouTube: NPR reported about 5 million subscribers in 2025 and roughly 300 million views a month.
- Podcast charts: The MeidasTouch Podcast has at times topped YouTube’s podcast rankings, passing Joe Rogan.
- Posting pace: The network publishes a new video about every 90 minutes across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Substack.
- Audience: Fans call themselves “the Meidas Mighty.”
- Team: About 30 contributors work with the brothers, including Michael Cohen.
He has also said he does not want to be the “Rogan of the left.” The network is openly partisan and aligned with mainstream Democrats, and critics call it one-sided. That context helps readers judge its coverage fairly.
Is Ben Meiselas Wife Expecting?
There is no credible report in 2026 that Xochitl Marin Meiselas is expecting. Many pages that rank for this question recycle “baby shower” posts from September 2024. Those posts were about the pregnancy that produced Ximena. Check Ben’s own channels or major outlets before believing any new claim.
